How to make a virtual tour, step by step.

There are three ways to create a professional 360° virtual tour today: with a 360° camera, with the phone in your pocket, or with AI from a description or a listing link. Here is the exact process, what each option costs, and how to publish your tour in about ten minutes.

Three ways to make a virtual tour

Pick the method that fits what you have.

Every method ends in the same place: an interactive 360° tour with hotspots that works on any phone, tablet or computer.

1. With a 360° camera

Best image fidelity for existing spaces. Shoot one 360° photo per room with an Insta360, Ricoh Theta or similar, then upload the equirectangular images. You need: a 360° camera and a tripod.

2. With your phone

No special gear. Take regular photos of each space and let AI extend every photo into a seamless 360° panorama. You need: any smartphone.

3. With AI — no photos at all

Describe a space in a sentence, or paste a listing link. AI generates every 360° scene and links them into a tour. Ideal for pre-sales, concepts and listings with only flat photos.

Step 1 — Plan your scenes

A great virtual tour feels like a guided walk, not a slideshow. Before you shoot or generate anything, list the spaces a visitor must see and put them in the order you would show them in person. For a home that is usually entrance → living room → kitchen → bedrooms → bathroom → outdoor space. For a hotel: arrival, lobby, a room, the restaurant, the pool and the view.

  • Aim for 6–12 scenes. Enough to explore, short enough that people reach the end.
  • Lead with your best space. The first scene is what people see in the embed or the link preview.
  • Write one line per scene — you will reuse it for hotspot labels and AI narration.

Step 2 — Capture or generate your 360° scenes

Option A: shoot with a 360° camera

Put the camera on a tripod at roughly chest height (about 1.5 m / 5 ft), in the center of each room, away from walls. Turn on every light, open the curtains, and use the camera's HDR mode so windows don't blow out. Step out of the shot or hide behind a door, then export equirectangular JPEGs (2:1 images such as 5760 × 2880).

Option B: use your phone — no 360° camera

Take a regular, well-lit photo of each space from a corner, holding the phone level. Upload the photos to VirtualTourEasy and AI turns each one into a full 360° panorama around the original view. It is the fastest way to turn existing listing photos into an immersive tour.

Option C: generate the scenes with AI

Type a description such as “A 320 m² sky penthouse on the 58th floor, double-height living room, sunset over the marina” and AI generates the scenes and wires the navigation between them. You can also paste a listing or website URL: we pull the photos, convert them into 360° scenes and assemble the tour for you.

Tip: you can mix methods in one tour — real 360° photos for the main rooms, AI scenes for a terrace that isn't finished yet, or a concept of a renovated kitchen.

Step 3 — Build the tour

Create a new tour, drop in your scenes and drag them into the order you planned. For each scene, set the starting view — the direction the camera faces when someone arrives — so visitors always land facing the most impressive part of the room. AI-generated tours come with navigation hotspots already placed; for camera or phone tours, add a navigation hotspot on each doorway that leads to the next room.

Step 4 — Add hotspots, info and branding

This is what turns 360° photos into a professional tour:

  • Info hotspots to point out features — “Travertine floors”, “Sea-view terrace”, “Renovated in 2025”.
  • Links to a booking page, a floor plan or a contact form.
  • Audio: background music or AI voice narration for each scene.
  • A map pin so people know where the place is.
  • Your branding: logo and colors, or a fully white-label tour on your own domain.

Step 5 — Publish and share it everywhere

Hit publish and your tour is live on a short link (like vt360.co/…) that opens instantly on phones and computers. From there you can:

  • Embed it on your website with one line of iframe code — WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or any CMS.
  • Publish it to Google Street View so it appears on your Google Maps listing.
  • Use an unbranded, MLS-friendly link for real estate portals.
  • Share it on WhatsApp, email and social, or turn it into a cinematic AI video for Reels, TikTok and YouTube.

How to make a virtual tour with an iPhone or Android phone

You don't need a 360° camera or a panorama app. Take one sharp, well-lit photo per room in landscape orientation — standing in a corner gives AI the most context — then upload them to VirtualTourEasy. AI extends each photo into a 360° panorama, you place hotspots, and you publish. Most people finish their first phone-made tour in under fifteen minutes.

Seven tips for a virtual tour that converts

  1. Light it like a photo shoot. All lights on, curtains open, shoot when the sun isn't directly in the windows.
  2. Declutter. 360° shows everything — cables, bins and counters included.
  3. Keep the camera level and at chest height for a natural, walk-through feel.
  4. Set a strong starting view for every scene.
  5. Label hotspots with benefits, not just room names.
  6. Add a clear call to action — book, call, request a visit.
  7. Put the tour where buyers already look: your listing, Google Maps, social and email.
