A Matterport alternative without the 3D scan.

Matterport is the reference for 3D digital twins — measurements, dollhouse views, point clouds. But if your goal is a tour that sells a listing or fills a room, you can skip the scan: VirtualTourEasy builds immersive 360° tours from the 360° photos you already shoot, from regular photos with AI, or from a description — on a flat monthly plan with unlimited views.

Why people look for an alternative

When a 3D scan is more than the job needs

Looking for an alternative rarely means Matterport is a bad product. Usually the job is simply different.

You already own a 360° camera

An Insta360 or a Ricoh Theta produces standard 360° photos. Upload them as they are — no guided capture, no processing queue.

Your volume is growing

Plans priced by active spaces grow with every listing you keep online. Ours are flat: Professional hosts 50 tours, Business is unlimited, and views are always free.

Some listings only have flat photos

AI turns regular photos into 360° scenes, or generates a whole tour from a description or a listing link — no site visit required.

You need video, too

Turn any tour into a cinematic or vertical AI video — with an AI soundtrack, ambient sound or your own voice-over — for portals, Reels and YouTube (Professional and Business).

You sell tours under your brand

Remove our watermark, add your logo and colors, and on Business serve every tour from your own domain with automatic SSL.

You need marketing, not measurements

Selling or renting a space takes light, flow and storytelling — hotspots, narration, an inquiry form — more than millimeter accuracy.

What Matterport costs, and what you’d pay here

What Matterport costs in 2026

As listed on Matterport’s plans page in October 2026, each paid plan is shown as a “starting at” price that rises with the number of active spaces you choose:

Matterport planStarting priceActive spaces
Free$01
Starter$14/month, or $12/month billed annually5 to 20
Professional$69/month, or $58/month billed annually20 to 150
Business$355/month, or $296/month billed annually100 to 300
EnterpriseContact salesCustom

A few details shape the real cost. Spaces over 200 scan points count as more than one active space. Archived spaces free up a slot but can’t be viewed, and reactivations beyond the monthly allowance cost $9.99 each. Add-ons such as schematic floor plans (from $14.99 per space) and MatterPak are sold separately. If you don’t capture yourself, Matterport’s Capture Services start at $238 per space, excluding the subscription.

What 12, 50 or 150 listings a year cost

What you pay on either platform depends on how many tours are live at the same time. The scenarios below assume each listing stays online for about three months and each home is under 200 scan points. Matterport figures are starting prices from its plans page (October 2026); VirtualTourEasy figures are our list prices.

Listings a yearMatterportVirtualTourEasy
~12
≈ 3 live at once
Starter from $12–14/month for 5 active spaces — from $144 a year billed annuallyFree for 3 small tours (100 MB, watermark), or Solo at $16–19/month for 15 tours with 100 AI credits — $192 a year billed annually
~50
12–15 live at once
Starter at a higher space count (priced above its starting point), or Professional from $58–69/month for 20 spaces (required for Pro cameras) — from $696 a year billed annuallySolo covers 15 tours from $192 a year; Professional adds 50 tours, unlimited scenes, MLS links and AI video for $576 a year billed annually
~150
≈ 40 live at once
Professional at 40 spaces (priced above its starting point), or Business from $296–355/month for 100 spaces — from $3,552 a year billed annuallyProfessional covers 50 tours for $576 a year; Business is unlimited for $1,920 a year billed annually

So at very small volumes Matterport’s Starter plan is the lower entry price. As the number of live listings grows, flat plans with no per-space pricing tend to cost less per listing — and on VirtualTourEasy there are no per-listing add-ons, reactivation fees or charges per view. Check Matterport’s plan configurator for your exact space count, and see all our plans on the pricing page.

When Matterport is the better choice

A fair comparison has to say it: if you need any of the following, Matterport (or another 3D scanning platform) is the right tool, and VirtualTourEasy isn’t a substitute.

  • Accurate measurements taken inside the model.
  • A 3D dollhouse view of the whole property.
  • Point clouds, CAD or BIM files for architecture, construction, facilities or insurance work.
  • A precise digital twin used for operations rather than marketing.

You can also use both: a scan where the job needs measurements, and VirtualTourEasy for everyday listings, AI-generated scenes and video — where speed and cost per tour matter more.

Hardware

Use the camera or phone you already have.

VirtualTourEasy doesn’t care how a 360° photo was made. If it’s a standard 2:1 equirectangular image, it becomes a scene. No guided capture, no device list to check.

  • 360° cameras: upload JPEG, PNG or WebP panoramas from an Insta360, a Ricoh Theta or any other 360° camera — up to 50 MB per photo, optimized for the web automatically.
  • Phones and DSLRs: upload a regular photo (or up to four of the same room) and AI extends it into a full 360° scene. Paid plans.
  • No photos: describe the property or paste a listing link, and AI generates the scenes and the navigation between them.
  • Mix sources in one tour — real 360° photos for the main rooms, an AI scene for the finished terrace.

FAQ

Matterport alternative questions

It depends on what you use Matterport for. If you need measurements, dollhouse views or point clouds, stay with a 3D scanning platform. If you need immersive tours to market listings, hotels or venues, a 360° tour platform like VirtualTourEasy works with the 360° camera or phone you already have, adds AI scene generation and AI video, and uses flat monthly pricing with unlimited views.
As listed on matterport.com in October 2026: Free ($0, 1 active space), Starter from $14/month ($12 billed annually) for 5 active spaces, Professional from $69/month ($58 annually) for 20, Business from $355/month ($296 annually) for 100, and Enterprise on request. Prices rise with the number of active spaces, and some add-ons are sold separately.
Yes. The VirtualTourEasy Free plan includes 3 tours of up to 10 scenes, hotspots and website embedding with no credit card; free tours carry a small watermark and don’t include AI credits. Matterport also has a free plan with 1 active space.
Yes. Upload the equirectangular 360° photos your camera exports — from an Insta360, a Ricoh Theta or any other 360° camera — on any plan, including Free.
There is no automatic import. You can bring the original 360° photos from your camera, or download 360° snapshots from Matterport Workshop, upload them to a new tour, and let AI place the navigation hotspots. Then replace the embed code on your website.
No. VirtualTourEasy creates 360° photo tours, not 3D scans. You can add a floor plan that works as an interactive mini-map, but for measurements, dollhouse views or point clouds a 3D scanning platform such as Matterport is the right tool.
At very small volumes, Matterport’s Starter plan has a lower entry price. As the number of live listings grows, VirtualTourEasy’s flat plans — 15 tours on Solo, 50 on Professional, unlimited on Business, with unlimited views — usually cost less per listing. Compare both for your own volume.
